Declarations of performance

The EU Construction Products Regulation (CPR) sets out the conditions for the placing on the market of construction products. It has been in force since 1 July 2013 and requires the following two elements:

  • Declaration of Performance: Since 2013, this has replaced the Declaration of Conformity previously used. The Declaration of Performance documents the essential properties and characteristics of all construction products for which harmonised technical specifications already exist within the EU.
  • CE marking: Through this, the manufacturer guarantees that the declared performance of the product is correct and that all applicable obligations and regulations under the Construction Products Regulation are complied with.
